Dear Alumni, Parents, and Friends of The Order,

I, on behalf of all of the actives of the Alpha Sigma Chapter, hope all of you had a great summer. The past few months have been busy at Georgia Tech. It has been full of great events, and fun times.

We all want to see all of you, Parents and Alumni, at our events this upcoming fall, so come when you can! Please reach out in any manner with any questions or concerns about the chapter. I would love to hear what you have to say for upcoming Alumni and/or Parents events, and I will do my best to get your input into action.

Thank you for all for your involvement this past spring semester at Alpha Sigma Chapter, and we all look forward to this fall and spending time with the Georgia Tech KA Family. Go Jackets!

2 spring & summer 2026 recap

Spring 2026 at was full of fun events on campus, at the KA house, and across state lines. Here’s what happened this past semester.

Georgia Tech Baseball Season

GT Baseball was exciting to watch this past season with arguably one of the best offenses in the history of college baseball. It was a disappointing end to the season, but this team produced some great memories for us fans.

TechWoodstock Philanthropy Week

In April, we had our TechWoodstock Philanthropy Week. Philanthropy events took place from the 13th to the 16th, and ended with live music on the 18th. We raised over $3,000 for our philanthropy from the week.

Spring Parents Weekend

The following weekend in April, we had our spring parents weekend, and our Annual Philanthropy Golf Tournament. We enjoyed dinner and live music Friday night, and had our golf tournament the following morning. Congratulations to Will Wright, Bolts Arnold, and their dads for winning the tournament for a second year in a row!

From the golf tournament alone, we raised over $6,000 for our philanthropy partner, the Independence Fund! Thank you to the moms that help every year, and to everyone who played in the golf tournament.

Rose Ball

We went back to the Sandpiper Beacon in May for our annual Rose Ball formal. Kennedy Habeeb finished her year as our Chapter Rose, and our new Rose, Lydia Lewis, was coronated.

Summer Rush

The summer was also filled with rush, including lake days, golf, a crawfish boil, and our annual Shoot the Hooch.

Abroad Program

Many of our brothers also went abroad this summer in Metz, France and Scotland.

4 PHILANTHROPY

Since the Spring, the brothers helped in many ways around the community.

  • TechWoodstock Philanthropy Week

  • Raised money for the Independence Fund to give away a Track Chair

  • Annual 9/11 campus memorial

Our first ever TechWoodstock Philantrhopy Week, and our Annual KA Georgia Tech Philanthropy Golf Tournament raised a combined $9,000 this past Spring! All of the money raised goes straight to the Independence Fund to help a wounded veteran in need.

In partnership with the Independence Fund, and the KA chapter at Mercer University, and through the generosity of so many brothers, brother’s families, alumni, our golf tournament hole sponsors, and other Georgia Tech students, we were able to raise all the needed money to present a wounded veteran a Track Chair. We will be presenting this Track Chair to a veteran who was selected by the Independence Fund on September 19th on the field during halftime of our home football game against Mercer. Thanks again to everyone who helped us accomplish our goal!

 
 

5 Fall 2026 preview

We have many exciting events planned for this fall! We all hope to see you there.

(9/19) - Parents Weekend

Parents weekend is set for next Friday and Saturday, September 18-19. Our parents weekend dinner and band party will take place Friday night, and a tailgate and the football game will follow on Saturday. We hope to see everyone at the tailgate on Saturday before the Mercer game!

(10/10) - Wieners for Wheelchairs Hot Dog Contest

Come compete in our hot dog eating contest! Our philanthropy hot dog eating contest will take place on Saturday, October 10th before we take on Duke at home. All money raised goes straight to our philanthropy, the Independence Fund.

(10/24) - Homecoming

Our homecoming game is Saturday, October 24th against Boston College. Depending on kickoff, we will either have breakfast or barbecue before the game for our alumni. We hope to see all Alpha Sigma alumni there!

 
 

6 FALL 2026 NEW MEMBERS

We finished this year’s rush by inducting 26 new members into our chapter. These new members come from four different states including Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, and all over the state of Georgia. What another great year for rush at Alpha Sigma! Thanks to our Rush Chair, Everett Stropkay, and the rush committee for all their hard work this year.
